Title

When I was deciding on what name I would put for my blog so many names were coming into my head but I kept dismissing them thinking that it just didn't sound right. The reason I chose
Dhikra Lil Alameen (Reminder For The World)
is because I feel that the Qur'an is not just for the Muslims. The truth is that Qur'an is a reminder for the whole world; every single person can get something out of Qur'an. So many of us claim something but only a handful actually understand what it is that they have claimed. The same goes for Islam and the Qur'an- we say we believe but what exactly is it that we have claimed attachment to? We must be reminded of what Islam is, who Allah is, what our mission in life is and how we can achieve it.

Purpose

This [Qur’ān] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.

What motivated me to start this small and informal blog is the verse in Surah Ibrahim which indicates that the Qur'an is for everyone whether you already know everything that is in it or not. For those that are aware of the Qur'an this blog serves as a reminder and for those who are unaware this serves as a notification of the beauty of Islam.

Introduction

Asslamu Alaikum,

As I sat studying for my test tomorrow something came into my heart which made me want to start my own blog. It may be that as humans we have to let out our feelings so others can learn from our experiences and also so that the burden is lifted off us.
The past nine months of my life have been devoted to the Qur'an entirely as I have been living away from home attending a Mon-Fri course at the Al Huda Institute. Everyday we do the word for word translation of the Qur'an and we also do tafsir, tajweed and other classes such as prayer and sunnah.
We are currently on the seventeenth juzz but it is never too late to begin something that will benefit others as well as yourself.
